I'm not much of a big fan of this band, but whenever I do listen to them, I just stop thinking or stop doing what I'm doing and just stare at the clouds slowly move by. I only have the Greatest Hits but it does have a variety of songs from different albums. This band does a good job creating ballad type songs but I have one complaint, their songs sound the same. Under The Bridge, Scar Tissue, and Soul To Squeeze are perfect examples. But even if they sound the same, you still have to love them. This band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1983. They have one singer, Anthony Kiedis, a bassist, Michael "Flea" Balzary, a drummer, Chad Smith, and a guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer. They have nine albums, and a new album to come during this year. They sort of make funk music, adding a rock style to it. I honestly like the way their music can easily calm you down or even think. I personally applaud bands who make music and make the listener think of the meaning behind the songs they listen to, and Red Hot Chili Peppers does a good job of doing that. Now, I'm no PepperHead, but I like this band. Not so much though, since their songs sound pretty much the same. At most, I give them a 6 out of 10. 6 because even if they make real good music, I can't stop to think they sound the same. Just listen to the listed songs above and tell me they don't. But I also do have to add that I only have their Greatest Hits album, but hey, when people first discover a band, they judge them by the way their singles sound.
I am fond of certain songs though, Fortune Faded, Save the Population, Dani California, and Dosed. As you can see, none of these songs sound the same, I had to listen to their other albums to find songs I like and ones that do not sound the same.
Well, that's it for this band. I put my point out there plain and simple, I like this band but their songs sound the same, which is why they deserve a 6 out of 10. I would have boosted them up to a 6.5 or maybe a 7 if they made their songs in a different way. I don't know how different, they have to determine the difference. Their new album, coming out later this year, should be good, I've heard awesome things about it. Recent news about this band, Activision has been talking of making a Guitar Hero: Red Hot Chili Peppers, but it is supposedly a rumor. I believe it'll happen, but no news on the date.
Well, that's all I got. Until next time, goodbye.
(P.S. You probably noticed my rating system. To clear it up, this is my rating system: 0-Fucking horrible, 1-Baaaad, 2-They need to get better, 3-They can do better, 4-Eh, 5-It's alright, 6-Not too bad, 7-This is pretty good, 8-Oh man, I really like this, 9-Oh shit, you should listen to this, 10-God damn, this is fucking amazing!)

I guess I have to agree that their 'slower' songs sound simmilar. For someone that has only heard the Greatest Hits album, I think you gave a good opinion. Coming from someone that you would probbably classify a 'PepperHead', I disagree. The Peppers have radically changed over time. Just because there are three songs from three distinct albums that are somewhat simmilar, you can't really dimiss the entire discography of the Peppers (the only apparent simmilarity I see is their slow pace and sad lyrics). I'm not scolding you for giving your opinion but just thought I'd throw mine up in response to yours.
P.S. Save the population is the best song on that album.
