This will be a quickie.

I don't exactly have much time to do anything. I'm on break from school but I'm still pretty busy, and I have no idea why. Well, this review will be short and simple. I didn't really intend it to be, but when I saw the discography of this band, they only have one album. 2 EPs, but one full-length album. And having 6 band members, I'd imagine they'd be motivated since they did form 2005. Well, they've been working on a new album, so that's good news. But as of right now, I'll give them my score from they have now. This band is We Came as Romans.

We Came as Romans is a hardcore band from Michigan formed in 2005 signed with Equal Vision Records. The band has 6 members, Eric Choi (drummer), Brian "Lou" Cotton (rhythm guitar), Andrew Glass (bass guitar), Joshua Moore (lead guitar), Kyle Pavone (vocalist), and David Stephens (unclean vocals). Before releasing their debut album, To Plant a Seed, they had 2 EP's, Demonstrations and Dreams. I won't be reviewing Demonstrations since it is no longer available anywhere, the ones who have it are in luck, they can sell it and make major money. But right now, it's not out to the public, so I'll still review with what I have. Let's get to it.

"Dreams EP" 2008
This 4 song EP isn't that bad, but isn't that great either. If you recall from my PTH review, I dislike high pitched vocals. And that's what you mostly get from this band. But the screaming vocals balances it out, so it isn't that bad. I also like the little keyboard touches they have, but you have to really hear it to find it. Overall, for an EP, it isn't that bad. But, like every other 'core' band, the yelling gets annoying and sometimes even starts a headache. The two vocalist make a good balance, but they seem to use more of the unclean vocalists. Even when you hear the clear vocalist, he's so high pitched, you can't really hear what he's saying. In the end, a 7 out of 10.

"To Plant a Seed" 2009
Now this is their debut album. I can't really say much because honestly, they sound like your average 'core' band. This album is no different. But they do have their originality. It could probably with the style they perform their music. Normally, 'core' bands just have your average screaming and harsh guitar riffs, but this band also adds like, a synthesizer sound in this album, and it works for them. You don't see 'core' bands using much synthesizer/keyboard sound, but this band really do use it and make it sound good. For example, Broken Statue, the intro for We Are The Reasons, and I Will Not Reap Destruction are good examples of how they incorporate that keyboard sound and it really does sound well together. I can also see myself use this album in particular to listen to while working out and such. I give this album a solid 8 out of 10.

That's pretty much it for this band. In total, I give this band an 8 out of 10. Not bad, but they could be better. Heads up, there will be a new album from this band coming out sometime later this year, but they haven't announced a title for it yet. But whenever you see the release date, make sure get a copy of it by then because I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it.
Until next time, goodbye.

(P.S. I haven't written a review in forever. I'm really sorry guys, it's not that I don't have the time, it's that there are ALOT of bands I would like to cover and I wish I can just lay them down onto paper using my brain, and having words appear so I can write it down later here. But expect some more reviews. Trust me, in time, they will come. Patience.)

-phew- It's been a while.

I'm back. I've been missing this blog for some time now, and every time I look at it in my favorites, I always plan to start again, but never do. Well, now I'm back, and I'm staying. One small change though. I might not have the complete discography of a certain band, but with what I have, I'll give a review about that and have an insight of the band, like I always do, but I just won't have the entire discography. Well, let's start this out simple. This band doesn't have a singer. What does that mean? This is an instrumental band. Some people might not really like instrumental bands, but other haven't even heard of one, so I'll introduce you guys to one. You might know the drummer and the guitarist of this band, and once you search up the rest of the members, you'll recognize them immediately. This band is Liquid Tension Experiment.
Liquid Tension Experiment is an instrumental progressive metal band found in 1997. The band members are Tony Levin, bass guitar, John Petrucci, electric guitar, Mike Portnoy, drummer, and Jordan Rudess, keyboards. Theres only 2 studio albums with these men, Liquid Tension Experiment and Liquid Tension Experiment 2. The others are just live albums, and there's another album with these guys, excluding John Petrucci since his wife was giving birth so he had to be there at that time, and the band changed their name to Liquid Trio Experiment. I only have the two Liquid Tension Experiment albums, so let's go straight to it.

"Liquid Tension Experiment" 1998
I find this album to be fun. The first song, Paradigm Shift, is just so entertaining to listen. The only thing that's pretty bad about this album is that it stretches out too far and all of their songs are 4+ minutes, except for 2 or 3, but this album consists of 13 songs, so it's pretty much a long album. The most recognized song in this album, and in my opinion the best song, is Universal Mind. Mostly because it comes after a sad type of song in the set list, State of Grace. But once after that song is finished, the upbeat Universal Mind comes in and you forget about everything and just want to jam out. When I show this band to my friends, Universal Mind is what I put on and everyone seems to like it, and I'm glad. Then, after, theres 5 songs called Three Minute Warning I, II, III, IV, and V. Articles say that these songs were just jam-outs that this band were doing for fun and they just recorded the whole near 30 minute jam and cut it up into 5 pieces, in total being 27 minutes and 94 seconds. This album is a 9 out of 10, it could've been a perfect 10 score, but it seems to drag at some times.

"Liquid Tension Experiment 2" 1999
Now this album is way shorter, only 8 songs. But this time, all the songs are 4+ minutes long. The shortest one being 4:01, and the rest are way more. That's the only downfall to an album, where the music seems to last forever, and you expect the song to finish, but it's keep on going. Well, I can't really say that to this album much, because in some of the long songs, such as Acid Rain and When the Water Breaks, they seem to drag but the song itself changes from soft to hard in a heartbeat. Let's look at When the Water Breaks for a moment. It's the longest song in the album, being 17 minutes (16:58), it can seem to drag. But the song has solos from each person in the band, and they're all unique. Each person adds a quality in this song, so, even if it is long, it's still a worthy song to listen to. The other songs are also worthy to listen, but other just seem either too boring or drag. The album is an 8 out of 10 just because most of its songs are meh, excluding some really good songs.

This band deserves a 9 out of 10. The talent in this band is amazing, the only thing is that they don't have anything new. Their latest stuff is the Liquid Trio Experiment, and will be reviewed some other time. Each person are doing their own thing now, so don't expect much from this band, but expect from the band members to announce what each of them are doing and what they will be doing in this future.
Until next time, goodbye.

If you haven't noticed yet,

I'm in hiatus right now. I'll come back maybe next month or so. For sure, after marching band season. After that, I'll have alot of time. Until then, goodbye.

The Worlds Best (and only) Virtual Band.

It's been a while since I've reviewed anything. I just didn't have a computer with internet access, so I couldn't do anything. Well, now that I'm back, I can finally do what I love the most. Listen to music and tell people what I think. This time, I'm pretty sure almost everyone has heard of this band. You can say they're unique in their own sort of way. This band is Gorillaz.
Gorillaz is a virtual musical project created by Damon Albarn in 1998. As you see, the band members are animated. That is because the co-creator of the band, Jamie Hewlett, designed and animates the band. The band itself consists of 2D (Lead vocalist/keyboard), Murdoc Niccals (Bass), Noodle (Guitar), and Russel Hobbs (Drums). Each band member have their own background that contribute in the formation of the band. They each have their own story, which is created by Albarn and Hewlett.

I first heard Gorillaz one day during the summer of 2005. I was at a summer camp program and we had a trip to Super Wheels. In Super Wheels, I would skate around the rink, with a DJ in the back playing popular music at that time. That's when I first heard DARE and Feel Good Inc. I then skated to the DJ and asked him who were the artists for those 2 songs. He said "Gorillaz." When I went home, I went on the computer and searched up "Gorillaz" on Google. That's when I started liking Gorillaz. Now, I listen to them every so often. I like their music, and so should you. Unto the review!

"Gorillaz" 2001
This is the first time I found out that they first had a self titled album before "Demon Days." Well, anyway, listening to this album, I can say that this is a good album to listen to and just chill. I'm pretty sure if you search "chill" in any internet radio, you'll find a Gorillaz song, and it might be from this album. The only thing I can say is, maybe three or five songs from this album might be known, while this album has a total of 15 tracks. I first thought the singles from this album were from their second album. Well, now that everything is clear to me, I don't really care. This is an excellent album to listen to if you just want to relax. Perfect examples are Tomorrow Comes Today, New Genious, and just almost every song in this album. 8 out of 10. Buy it, it's worth it.

"Demon Days" 2005
Now this is the album that everyone knows. It contains Feel Good Inc., DARE, Dirty Harry, and Kids With Guns/El MaƱana. I'm telling you, this is where the Gorillaz went to fame. Some might say otherwise, that they went to fame with their self titled debut album. But I don't agree with that statement. Well, going back to the music, I can say that out of every song in this album, only one song got me looping it over and over again in my iPod. All Alone. I have no idea why, but it just happened. Other than that, the songs in this album are great. This album even got a 4 out of 5 stars from "Uncut Magazine" and received #4 from Spin magazine's "40 Best Albums of 2005." Come on, what else do you need? 9 out of 10.

"Plastic Beach" 2010
After 5 years, Gorillaz finally made a new album. I've known people that love Gorillaz and once they announced a rumor of a new album and when a single was leaked onto the internet, you would not believe the reactions I've seen when people found out about a possible new album. When the album came out, I went to FYE and noticed a line with everyone holding a "Plastic Beach" album, and it took my by surprise. Gorillaz have a huge fan base. Well, enough of that, this album was a really big change from the album before. It's a different sound, but in a good way. Thing is, after 5 years, trying to get back to Gorillaz, it took a while to get used to this album since this one was different than the last. All in all, this album deserves a second chance if you don't like it to begin with. 7.5 out of 10.

Well, that's it for the Gorillaz. Right now, they're touring around the world, calling the tour "Escape to the Plastic Beach world tour." I would love to escape to a "Plastic Beach." Overall, Gorillaz get an 8 out of 10. Their music is super chill, so if you're in need of chill music, this band has got it. For any other questions or stuff, just go to gorillaz.com/
Until next time, goodbye.

What a fist.

This is one of the first bands I got into when I first started listening to metal. I love their sound, it's hard-hitting, it's loud, and it's awesome as hell. I used Pandora to find them. I searched up Slipknot, and I got Korn, gay Disturbed, and then I got this band. I loved their sound, way better than Disturbed, for sure. This band is Five Finger Death Punch.
Five Finger Death Punch is an American heavy metal band forming around 2005. It consists of 5 band members: Ivan Moody (vocals), Zoltan Bathory (lead guitar), Jason Hook (guitar), Matt Snell (bassist), and Jeremy Spencer (drummer). They only have 2 studio albums, and there will be a new album coming out around 2011. The studio albums are The Way of The Fist and War is The Answer.

When I first heard of this band, I had their singles stuck in my head. I liked, scratch that, loved how Ivan sang. If I can have any wish in the world, I would wish for more wishes and when I start wishing away, I would wish to have an awesome voice like Ivan does. If you've never heard of this band, then go find The Way of The Fist in your local media store and listen to it. Let me explain why now.

"The Way of The Fist" 2007
The first three songs I heard from this album, in Pandora, are Never Enough, The Way of The Fist, Death Before Dishonor. I fell in love with this man's voice. It's just so perfect, why can't the type of vocals be used in other bands, instead of just average yelling? If anything, they should get voice lessons from Ivan, they'll even notice it's friggin' awesome. Well, since they're pretty much a new band, it took them a while for FFDP to make a new album. Still, this album had awesomeness written all over it and FFDP fans wouldn't ask for more. Until they released their latest album last year, that's when the fans went hysterical. Imagine, this is an award winning album, if you haven't heard this album, you just have to. Some songs to acknowledge, Can't Heal You is one of those songs that don't only make you want to scream out, but if you read the lyrics, you'll appreciate the emotion Ivan tries to pour on you. "The deeper you get, the farther you fall down. The closer I get, the more you dissolve." There's also The Bleeding. It's supposed to be a song where emotions just fall into the right place and everything tends to be sad. In order to get the most out of this song, listen to the acoustic version, it was meant to be for acoustic. Overall, this album is an 8 out of 10. Even if it was good, the songs seem to sound the same.

"War is the Answer" 2009
If you think "The Way of the Fist" was a great album, you haven't heard this album yet. It's just their second studio album and it bleeds pure sickness. I find it way better than their previous album and they have only made 2 albums overall. If they made such a success with their first two album, imagine the possibilities for this band to go very far. Hopefully, they won't go so far that they go mainstream, because if they stick with the way they make their music, they can be very popular. I've heard this album a couple of times non-stop. It's more satisfying than the previous album, I never got bored. Even if when I heard the instrumental piece, Canto 34, I didn't get bored. Listening to the very first song, Dying Breed, I got goosebumps. Continuing with the track list, No One Gets Left Behind is an awesome song to find the guitar/drum tabs and just jam out to. Walk Away seems like a soft song, but you can classify it as the power ballad in this album, and it sounds really good in the album. Hell, all the songs in this album are really good. This album is a 10 out of 10!

Overall, this band is a 9 out of 10. Since they only have made 2 albums, just imagine the rating other music reviewers will give them. Five Finger Death Punch doesn't really have much publicity in the public, but they will have their time to shine, I'm sure of it. Next time you see their name pop up in TV, or the computer, or you see someone with an FFDP shirt, that's when you know this band is reaching out. Recent news, the band will enter the studio by the end of this year to work on a new album. Their website: http://www.fivefingerdeathpunch.com/

Until next time, goodbye.

I thought I never would.

This is a review I've been dreading to do. I've been asked to do this band for quite some time, but I never wanted to because I disliked them until now. I first heard of them when my friend showed me one song, and I pretty much liked it. But then, I heard it again, and I started disliking the vocalist. The music itself is awesome, but this type of vocalist annoyed me. The vocalist in this band uses high pitch vocals, and I couldn't stand it. Until recently, I brushed off the pickyness and I said the truth, I sort of like high pitch vocalists. I don't like it completely, but I like them from this band. People can say what they want, but my views have changed and I like this band, just sometimes the vocalist gets pretty boring, but the music kicks it back up. This band is Protest the Hero.
Protest the Hero, used to be called "Happy Go Lucky", is a Canadian progressive metal band formed around 1999. The band consist of 4 members: Rody Walker (vocalist), Luke Hoskin (lead guitar), Tim Millar (rhythm guitar), Arif Mirabdolbaghi (bass guitar), and Moe Carlson (drummer). They have two studio albums, Keiza and Fortress, and three 'extended plays', Search for the Truth, Calculated Use of Sound, and Sequoia Throne/Remix EP.

I wouldn't even bother listening to this band if it weren't for a couple of kids that I know. Well, I'll try to review everything in order, since they're debut album was after a couple of extended plays. I'll display which album are the studio albums and which are the extended play. So, enough with the chitchat, onto the review!

(Extended play) "Search for the Truth" 2002
There are just 2 songs in this play. They're called Is Anybody There? and Silent Genocide. When I heard Is Anybody There?, it sounds just like average metal sounding music with a really high pitch vocalist. Not that it's a bad thing, it just sounds whatever. As for Silent Genocide, I don't find it great. It just sounds like your average wannabe trash song. 3 out of 10.

(Extended play) "A Calculated Use of Sound" 2003 and then re-released 2004
Now this sounds better than "Search for the Truth." I'm sorry, but the music overall, drums, guitar, and vocalist, remind me of My Chemical Romance. That's a bad thing because MCR SUCKS. Well, atleast Protest the Hero is it's own band, not an MCR ripoff. In this album, I only like 3 songs. Red Stars Over the Battle of the Cowshed, An Apathetic World, and I Am Dmitri Karamazov and the World is My Father. This album sounds okay, but still, this is early Protest the Hero. Music changes overtime. 5 out of 10.

(Studio/Debut album) "Kezia" 2005 [in Canada] 2006 [in the U.S.]
Well, this album is said to be a concept album. It's about a woman named Kezia who is being executed. The album consists of 4 parts, the first part is about the priest who does the execution, one of the prison guard who kills her, Kezia's point of view, and then the finale. Let's get started. Part 1: By listening to the first song, it blew me away. I can't believe I'm saying this, but just listening to the first part, I think I pretty much like Protest the Hero. I guess you just have to listen to them before you give a fully honest judgement. All I know that as of right now, this is friggin' awesome. Part 2: "Place your justice in my palm and I'll make a fist." "I begged this place to let me burn, and it whispered, 'burn away.'" "Psychological drama of our social justice." I hate to say this, but I can't believe I haven't heard of this band before. Part 3: I find it amusing that She Who Mars The Skin Of Gods all end with rhymes. Back to the music, simply amazing. Those riffs, I've barely heard them in any band and now that I hear them more often used in this band, I like it. And of course, the vocalist. I guess I like Rody's voice, but it gets a tad boring, until the harsh vocals comes in. Still, the music blows me away. Part 4: God, this is simply amazing. And it's just one song, A Plateful of Our Dead. Okay, this album is simply amazing. I just have to say only ONE thing though. Since I'm not used to high pitch vocals, I gotta give this album a 9.5 out of 10. It's close there, but the high pitch isn't exactly my style.

(Studio album) "Fortress" 2008
The final studio album. There is also a remix EP, but I won't review that since it's basically remixes of their songs and instrumental work. I'd rather work on the actual music, not remixes. This album is also divided into parts, 3 of them. I'll do what I did when I reviewed "Kezia", bold the titles of the different sections. On Conquest and Capture: Not much different from the previous album, but I do admire the difference in the vocalist. He uses his normal high pitch vocals and then switches to harsh and whisper in some songs in this section. I also still greatly admire the guitar riffs, I haven't heard of those riffs in any band that I can't think of. (Untitled): Sequoia Throne is the first song in this section and the first song I heard from this band last year. I got bored of listening to the vocalist using high pitch vocals so that's why I was hating on the band, just because of the vocals being used. But now, being more mature and listening to other music like this, I like the way the guitar uses the riffs to pretty much match the vocalist pitch. I do have to admire that now, listening more and more into this album, the vocalist changes to harsh, and I admire that. I like harsh vocals and in this section, I hear him use more harsh vocals in every song. Especially Limb from Limb. Isosceles: I like this section out of the 3 because it seems more louder, more insane, more frantic. I would love to jump up and punch a tree with Wretch, Goddess Bound just sounds completely insane, and Goddess Gagged is just an awesome song to finish the album. All these songs are out there, and I like that. I give this album a 10 out of 10, oddly enough.

Well, that's it for this band. They'll release a new album sometime next year, 2011. Until then, I recommend buying "Fortress" because I like that album out of any other album released before. I do have to say, even if I admire the usage of the different way Rody changes his voice, I still don't prefer high pitch vocalists than my type of vocalist. The ones you hear screaming with a low pitch. But not death metal, those vocalist make it seem like they hurt.
Until next time, goodbye.

Now that I'm back,

It's time to go back to normal and start reviewing bands. To start, I recently heard about this band. Just this year a friend of mine introduced me to them and I gotta say, I like their music. They were formed around 2003, but made their debut album in 2006. Their first single, recorded 2006, was #1 in an international metal chart and received many awards including best vocals, best guitars, best drums, and more. They've had many ups and downs, but in the end, it's the music that makes everything happen. This band is called Threat Signal.
Threat Signal is a Canadian Melodic Death Metal band formed in 2003. It consists of Jon Howar, vocals, Pat Kavanagh, bass, Travis Montgomery, guitar, and Norman Killeen, drummer. They only have two albums, Under Reprisal and Vigilance.

When I first heard this band, I thought it was going to be just an average sound, like every other melodic death metal band sounds like. It sucks that most of those bands, after having 2 or more albums, start sounding metalcore than melodic death metal. It's sad to know that, but oh well. The first album sounds alright, it's pretty friggin' awesome. Then the second album, you can say they sounds the same. We'll see right now, just read further.

"Under Reprisal" 2006
When Threat Signal made this album, they had a different lineup in the members. Due to personal problems and whatnot, they had to get new members. Well, when I heard this album, I was amazed. I didn't have any idea what I was going to get myself into. I just thought it was gonna be same band there that say they're good, but it's the complete opposite. Knowing that I love Sonic Syndicate, when I heard this band, it reminded me of them, just less better. Still, this album is awesome. The single from this album, Rational Eyes, was the first song in the tracklist. It's a great choice to start an album, it makes you want to know what else is in this album that sounds like the single. The song after, As I Destruct, sounds pretty sad, which, off the bat, is bad. After knowing theres a sad-ish song, right after that song comes a song that kicks your ass, One Last Breath. As soon as you think next couple of songs sound the same, just wait until you listen the next single, A New Beginning. That song starts slow and then it just gets fast and quick paced. Seriously, if you've never heard of this band, now you have. And now that you know, go listen to them, you won't feel empty. This album is 8 out of 10.

"Vigilance" 2009
After listening to "Under Reprisal", I was blown away. I expected this album to match with the past album and it certainly did. Awesome riffs, fills, and breakdowns are throughout this whole album. My favorite songs are Afterlife, Through My Eyes, United We Stand(only the intro), Beyond Recognition, and most of the other songs in this album as well. The only thing I have to say is that most of these songs are long. They get pretty boring after a while. Sometimes it's good to have a long song, but only if it kicks you in every way possible, but certain songs in this album doesn't really do so, which I disapprove. So, this album gets a 7 out of 10.

Well, that's all for this review. It felt a bit awkward writing this review since I got used to saying what I thought of every song in every Slipknot album, so I'm trying to get used to doing what I used to do, reviewing the album, not every single song. This band is an 8 out of 10. I can see them do more successful in the future. There isn't any recent news, just that this band is touring with Dark Tranquility and some other band I can't figure their name out. If you want to know more information, visit their Myspace (they don't really have an official page yet): http://www.myspace.com/threatsignal.

Finale.

Well, there you have it. I reviewed every single Slipknot album they have made in this whole month. I'm proud of my work, I was starting to think when I would start reviewing my favorite band. I'm glad I dedicated a whole month for them. Before I finish off, I'll be reviewing the little extra songs that were released as a secret tracks. Before doing that, I'll explain some things. Next week, I'll be off in a cruise the entire week, so I won't be able to post anything for the first week of August. But when I come back, I'll start reviewing bands that I've been requested. Such as Avenged Sevenfold, Protest the Hero, We Came As Romans, Threat Signal, and Killswitch Engage. Many others will be reviewed also, since I'm going back and reviewing random bands. Well, thank you for sticking with me this month, I'm going back to normal now. In order to fill up this review, like I said, I'll be reviewing the hidden tracks from Slipknot. I'll post the album covers next to it to tell what album is it from. I'll use alternate covers to make it look different and appealing.
"Slipknot" 1999
-Get This
"Local bands (suck these nuts) U.S. bands (suck these nuts) Worldwide bands (sucks these nuts) All you bands can suck these fucking nuts!" This song is amusing. Everyone sucks, so live with it.
-Interloper
This is the remake from the" Crowz" album. The only difference is that it was made after releasing the self-titled album. It sounds exactly the same, it's just made again with the new band members.
-Despise
For a hidden track, it's a pretty good song. I think it should have been a part of the track list, it's like a combination of Purity and Liberate, so it sounds good. It has the slow yet powerful feeling like Purity and the madness from Liberate. Also, if you get the 15 minute version, once the actual song stops, and you speed ahead to like, 10 or 11 minutes or so, you hear an audio of the whole band watching 2 girls 1 cup.

"Iowa" 2001
-Snap
This is the remake of the one in "Crowz." The thing is, they didn't really make it, they did it again and it actually sounded pretty much the same. They only included in the hidden tracks because they let Roadrunner Records use the song for the soundtrack to the movie "Freddy vs Jason" that was made in 2003.

"Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses) 2004
-Don't Get Close
This is another favorite of mine. It has to be my 4th favorite Slipknot song. It's just so awesome how fast, quick, and hard-hitting this song is. With sick guitar riffs, sick drum fills, and mad vocals.
-Scream
To end my top 5 list, this comes in 5th. It comes close against Don't Get Close because they're both just that awesome. If these songs were sent to the main track list, then this album would have been way better. They can take out the acoustic songs and replace it with these songs. That's what they should have done. This song is awesome, it's pretty trashy and it has the same thing Don't Get Close has, but in a different way.

"All Hope Is Gone" 2008
-Child of Burning Time
I don't really know much about this song, but it isn't that great. Corey mostly sings, and that's what we don't want. We want harsh vocals, not just singing. If he screamed the lyrics through the song, it would have been way better cause the music itself is sick.
-Vermilion Pt. 2 (Bloodstone Mix)
It's just Vermilion Pt. 2, just more depressing. I like this version better, but for other reasons. When it comes to the music itself, it gets better, but it shouldn't be here.
-'Til We Die
I like this song, it's basically saying nothing will seperate them apart, only if they die. Ironically, Paul Gray, the bassist, #2, has died. He died May 24th of this year. They dedicated this song to him, a co-founder of the band. May he rest in piece. I love you Paul.

Well, that's it for this band. I would like to keep on writing as much as I know of Slipknot, but soon enough, this month has come to an end. I'll be back reviewing other bands 2 weeks from now. Until next time, goodbye.

Part VI

The final album. The last album up to date. You know, when I first heard a new Slipknot album was coming out, I went crazy. I told everyone I knew, continuously. I was so psyched when I heard the new single, Psychosocial. I almost jumped off my roof when I saw the new music video. After, I heard the single All Hope Is Gone. I couldn't get it off of my head. The rest of the songs was leaked, but I didn't want to hear it. When I had the money, I rushed to the mall near my house, went inside the Hot Topic store and bought the special edition, that brought 3 extra songs. I put it on my iTunes and put the CD in a place where it won't be ruined. Kept hearing the album 50+ times. I then stopped listening to music for a while. I came back and heard Slipknot in correct order of albums. That's when I realized, this album isn't what I honestly expected it to be. I wanted better, but they gave us mediocre. This album is All Hope Is Gone.
"All Hope Is Gone" 2008
1- .execute.
It sounds pretty good. The song is basically a rant about things that are going on that concerns human's feelings and such. The song itself, it starts with some sampling, to guitar, and then a fast drum solo. It sounds pretty sick. You stop caring on what Corey is trying to say and you just indulge yourself when Joey does his drum solo.

2- Gehenna (The Killing Name)
One of my favorite songs in this album. It's sick as hell, you have your thrashy sounding guitars and the fast drum fills. It's trying to replicate (SIC) from the self-titled album, where you get an intro song that goes directly to the next song, and that next song is a slap in the face.

3- Sulfur
This song is meh. It's not that great, the only cool thing is Joey bringing the double bass. The way Corey sings the chorus is fine, but this is where you can see how Slipknot changed. It doesn't sound that great. The video for this song is pretty cool, I like it. But the song, not that great.

4- Psychosocial
I like this song. It's a pretty good single, no lie. The music video is pretty sick, they used these totem heads as torches (they used totem heads before releasing the new masks). They also used alot of water and fire. Theres a part in the video where they poured water down Joey's cymbals and when he goes to hit both crash cymbals, it goes slow-mo and you can see the water bounce up and splashes. It was a great single to start the hype for this album.

5- Dead Memories
I like this song. At the time of buying this album, I was getting over my "moments" of back then, and listening to this song helped me out. "But you asked me to love, and I did. Traded my emotions for a contract to commit. And when I got away, I only got so far. The other me is dead, I hear his voice inside my head." "Dead visions in your name. Dead fingers in my veins. Dead memories in my heart." The video for this song is purely amazing. It starts off with Corey with no mask burying a hole. He goes inside the whole and his in his straight jacket and mask and he goes through each band member, a challenge to go past their mind. Out of all music videos in this album, I like this one the most.

6- Vendetta
All I have to say about this song, sick drum intro. The rest of the song is awesome, this is another favorite of mine of all Slipknot songs. this will come to spot number 3. "Are you ready for the time of your life? Let's - Pretend - We're not at the end. Pretend - That we have nothing left."

7- Butcher's Hook
When I first read the title for this song, I imagine those hooks you see dead pigs are hanged by and a butcher is using the hook to kill people. Well, the song itself is great. It just screams out anger. I love the fact that this song is all just harsh and the lyrics are just amazing, because I had problems and this song made me want to kick them aside. This band helped me kick everything I hated aside and just listen to their music.

8- Gehenna
This is like Iowa's "Skin Ticket", which like I said before, not one of my favorites. This is like, a slow song that has to do with feelings and emotions. Like, bottled up emotions, to be exact. When you listen to this song, you feel like you have a burning sensation to let go and just sit down to think of the regrets you have, if you do have, and try to burn them away from your mind.

9- This Cold Black
Not much to say about this song, just that it's a good song to listen to after Gehenna. This is one of my favorite songs in this album. It's so hard-hitting, and has big words for you who have intensive reading! You can learn new words such as the words in this verse, "Pneumatic Destroyer - Pathetic Seducer - Distortion Sufficient."

10- Wherein Lies Continue
This song is okay. Like I said about The Shape and Three Nil, it's good but not talked about alot. The thing is, by this time, people would stop listening to the album because since we all expected more and we just got an alternative sounding album, we just gave up. I didn't, they still will be my favorite band. This song is okay, I like it. But like I said, you don't hear good things about it since you don't see this song talked about alot.

11- Snuff
Now this is like Vol. 3's "Vermilion Pt. 2" since the acoustic feeling in this song. Thing is, this song is the only acoustic sounding song in this whole album. So they did a good thing about not having alot of acoustic songs, unlike Vol. 3. I don't really know the meaning of this song, but yet you can tell it's about bottled feelings toward someone that you want to tell them about everything, but either you don't want to, it feels like you can't, or they just walk away when you have the chance. To get an idea of what I mean, watch the video. It seems like Corey wants to show a woman how much he cares, but she walks away, giving him no chance to relieve himself, so he's suffering with emotional pain. Well, other than that, this song is great when it comes to relieving emotions.

12- All Hope Is Gone
I've noticed, every time Slipknot does a sad song, right after that in the track list comes a hard hitting song that punches you in the face. This song is an example of that. From a sad heartfelt song to a fast paced thrashy piece of music, it seems like a punch in the stomach and slap in the face. This song is amazing, and I have to say, the best song in this album. You can say, they saved the best for last.

This album deserves an 8 out of 10. It's a good album, but doesn't really compete with their other albums. It does go head-to-head to Vol. 3, but knowing that, you can see that they can do better. Well, that's it from this band; no more albums. I will post one more post though, it will be the final part of the Slipknot series. I will go back to reviewing bands next month. I've gotten requests, so watch for that.

Until next time, goodbye.

Part V

Now this is the album that everyone recognizes. This is the album that everyone knows. Everyone has heard of the singles in this album, Duality, Before I Forget, Vermillion Pt.1, andVermillion Pt.2. Slipknot added an acoustic guitar sound throughout this album, so it's softer than "Slipknot" and "Iowa" but it still sounds amazing. It is also true that they're many subliminal messages throughout the album. In the 80 minute video they made and released after this album was out, it had many "easter eggs" to unlock and you can find all 9 of them and you can see 9 different clips of each band member and see what they do. This album is Voliminal 3: (The Subliminal Verses).
"Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" 2004
1- Prelude 3.0
It sounds pretty weird in the beginning of the song, but it's a great introduction to the album. Also, unlike the other albums, this is actually a song. Not just a 1 minute or less song that goes to the next song in the track list. No, this is an actual song. It still goes right along to the next song, which makes it a good introduction.

2- The Blister Exists
This song is all drums and percussion. Mostly percussion, since Chris Fehn and Shawn Crahan use marching snares to keep the rhythm. Other than that, the guitars match the drums and percussion sound to make a thrashy fast speed. A great song in this album. May I also mention, I like the little drum/snare break. It's about 30 seconds and when it's around 15-30 seconds, the guitars come and have their own jam out with the drums/percussion. It then goes back to the song and after that, it ends with the small percussion break. The same beat as before, but the song ends that way.

3- Three Nil
I'm not really much a fan of this song. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song. But it's like what I said in Part IV about The Shape. It's good, but not heard much. They did perform this song live, but even so, I still don't find it enjoyable enough, like the other songs.

4- Duality
Here's a song that everyone knows. It's annoying how people judge Slipknot just by this song. It's not that great, honestly. I like the fact it starts out slow and then it just goes crazy. The video for this song won "Roadrunner's best metal music video of all time." I can see why, it starts off with the band in an abandoned house, all broken. Outside the house, hundreds of people, all of them being maggots (the name given to Slipknot fans). They all just come in and wreck the shit out of everything. You can see most of them jamming out with Slipknot in a room and you can see other just breaking walls, throwing shit out of windows, pushing and shoving each other. It's a funny sight, but the song is okay. I like the song, don't get me wrong, but the fact that this song went a tad mainstream, I started to dislike it. Oh well.

5- Opium of The People
Now this, this song is my favorite Slipknot song overall. I also think the best metal song in this album. No one really has heard of this song, but I think they should. It's my favorite, no doubt. It's basically 5 minutes of awesomeness. It has it's own breakdown with Mick and Joey. Corey then screams back into the song and everything goes back to where it's awesome.

6- Circle
This song really has no meaning, but they wanted to try out a song where they can add an acoustic feeling to it, and it takes the spot. It has a sad feeling to it, an aspect of which no Slipknot song has. Until this album, they're other acoustic feeling songs, but in the order of the track list, this is the first.

7- Welcome
Going back to the harsh Slipknot, this song is amazing. I love the fact that it brings you back intro reality after listening to Circle. To me, it sounds like an exploding volcano. The beginning, the volcano is about to erupt. The middle is when the volcano just explodes, and around the ending is the lava burning everything in sight. The small guitar solo is just jizztastic. This comes second in my favorite Slipknot song list.

8- Vermilion
This song was for Corey Taylor's girlfriend or wife at the time. During this album, he still had a drinking problem. When he was drunk, he always thought about the problems he has had in his life. So, he tried to make a song to try and make his significant other realize what he has in his mind concerning her. The video for this song is excellent. It's made from stop motion, and everyone likes a bit of stop motion in their life.

9- Pulse of the Maggots
Remember in Part IV, what I said about The Heretic Anthem? Well, this song is like that, but not an anthem. You can say, it's pretty much our march. What gives us our courage to do anything. "We fight 'til no one can fight us. We live, and no one can stop us. We pull when we're pushed too far. And the advantages. The bottom line is. We never, had to fight in the first place. We only, had to spit back in their face. We won't, walk alone any longer. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger." See where I'm getting at?

10- Before I Forget
Ughhh. Even if this song won a Grammy Award and AOL's top metal song of the decade (back then, it was 2005), in my opinion, it's not great. I'm a maggot, I can't lie about that. But this song, it just isn't great. It went mainstream when it first came out as a single. This is one of the first songs I heard from them and I liked it. After hearing their whole discography, this song isn't that great. It's good, but not in my opinion.

11- Vermilion Pt. 2
The second part of Vermilion. This is another song with an acoustic guitar. This part is when Corey gets sober from being drunk all the time and start to think of depressing things about his failing relationship. He says aspects that he appreciates from his significant other and the reason why he loves her. It's a sad sob story, I know, but it adds the acoustic guitar feeling to it, and that's what basically matters.

12- The Nameless
Just like Welcome brought you back into reality after Circle, this song jolts you back to your main state of mind after listening to Vermilion Pt. 2. It starts off all jumpy, but then it goes back to realizing that you're alive. After listening to Vermilion Pt. 2, I honestly jumped up half a centimeter up my chair when it changed to this song. The chorus of this song amuses me, a tad. "(Don't go) I never wanted anybody more than I wanted you. (I know) The only thing I ever really loved, was hate." Corey is trying to continue say the fact that he still loves her, but also hates the fact that she's still alive. Confusing? Yes, I know.

13- The Virus of Life
I don't really know what's going in this song. It's all percussion with the help of Craig, sampler. Adding noises here and there. I'm pretty sure this is an adaptation of what goes through a mind after being sober and understanding what's wrong with your life, so you go back into drinking, realizing what's wrong with you and you talk to yourself about the things that go through your mind. That's what I think, because I don't really know understand what's going through this song, but hey, it's still awesome. When I first heard this song in this album, I kept listening to it, I didn't stop until a week.

14- Danger - Keep Away
Back when I had my "moments", I kept hearing this song. I would sing it to myself and think of my past doings and regrets. "I won't let you walk away, without hearing what I have to say." I think that's pretty heartfelt. Another one, "What if I never saw you again... I'd die right next to you in the end." I find this a great song because when Corey sings, not only does he sing, but Chris Fehn adds backup vocals, and they sound great together.

Well, that's all for this album. Overall, this album is an 8 out of 10. Some songs I didn't like, and since it's their first album with an acoustic guitar feeling to it, it didn't come out the way we all wanted it to be. We all like the old Slipknot, but this new Slipknot doesn't really quite make it. If you want to buy this album, go ahead. Everyone knows the singles in this album, but if you're a metal head and want heavy stuff, go back and listen to Slipknot or Iowa. You won't be disappointed.

Until next time, goodbye.

Part IV

After a successful debut album, does this album compare with the self-titled album? Surely enough, yes. It's not that great, but some people rather this album than the first one. I first thought so, but then I heard this album with Slipknot, and I'm sorry, but Slipknot is better. Well, this album is good nonetheless. Although, while making this album, the band was going through many difficulties. The band members took a small break from the first album and they all had either an alcohol addiction or drug addiction. All of those messed them up, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Yet, they still gave us what we wanted. More. This is Slipknot's 3rd main album Iowa.
"Iowa" 2001
1- (515)
Vomiting, screaming, yelling, and distortion. That's what you get in this one minute song. It's a great intro for the album, because the next song goes great with this song.

2- People = Shit
Now, this a good song. Only thing is, it gets boring. It keeps on saying "People equal shit" and that's it. Okay, they do have other lyrics, but they made their point of saying people equal poop by the title. There isn't any need for the continuous phrase to be said. Other than that, it's an okay song.

3- Disasterpiece
I for one like this song. I know some people who just skip through this song because they don't really like this particular song. I, for one, do like it. I mean, I can see why people don't like it, it's not that great. But I like the lyrics, especially the chorus. "Noises, noises, people make noises. People make noises when they're sick. Nothing to do except hold onto nothing." There is a part in this song where it just slows down. It doesn't really need to be slowed down, but oh well, they did it, and made it sound alright.

4- My Plague
I love this song. That's it. It's just so awesome in every way. There is a mix of this song that was put on the 2002 "Resident Evil" film soundtrack. The mix is called "My Plague (New Abuse Mix)" but the song in the album isn't it. This is the original one, and way better than any mix. It is also meant to be heard in full volume, it's so hard and fulfilling.

5- Everything Ends
This is a great song to let out some emotional problems. Whether it be a girl of your dreams cheating on you, or you're being bullied at school, or even if you want to blow off some steam. All in all, this is a good song. Not great though, because it's saying the same thing over and over again, but oh well. "I haven't slept since I woke up and found my whole life was a lie, motherfucker!"

6- The Heretic Anthem
Once I turned heretic, I started to actually think this song to be my anthem. All jokes aside, this song is trying to prove a point. People talk shit about other people, judging them and saying who they are. Thing is, they're just wrong. When that one person goes fact to face to the shit talker, the person doesn't have anything to say because the crap they've been talking about is just bull crap. They have nothing to say, so there isn't a reason why to talk crap. Just shut up and let them be.

7- Gently
This is the remake of the "Gently" in the M.F.K.R. album. It is said that during the making of this song, Corey cut himself and was sent to a dark room naked and they recorded everything he was saying after being in the room for 15 minutes. He started to talk to himself, and the audio for that is in the beginning. Once they had him in that room for 30 minutes, he started yelling to himself, and that's the audio that you get after the low volume talk. After that, they stood him up, waited for him to clean himself up and they started recording this song. When I had my "moments" back in the day, I would always listen to this song just to say the beginning lyrics, "Gently, my mind escapes into the relaxing world of pleasure, a pleasure that'll take my mind off the realities of my life, my past life...life as I know it now." I would then scream my heart out when that part ends and the song continues. It would honestly help me relax a bit with the problems I was going through.

8- Left Behind
This song is for those people who feel they are being left behind. The video for this song is awesome, it's about a kid who goes through life being alone. He seems like a 12 or 13 year old who has a job being a butcher. The kid goes to his home, and it starts raining. He then goes down a basement lives there forever. In addition, Slipknot had a goat with them throughout the whole recording, which is why you see a goat head in the album cover. Well, they made this song for the goat, meaning that this song is what the goat thought when it saw the many sides of Slipknot when they were making this album.

9- The Shape
I don't hear much about this song. It's okay, no lie, but it's one of those songs you don't listen to as much because it isn't exactly out there. Well, if you do like it, I can see why. It has it's sneaky elements to it, and the lyrics are alright as well. Again, this song isn't really heard as much. But if it was, then you can see alot of people talking about it.

10- I Am Hated
One of my favorite songs in this album. When I first heard this song, I couldn't get it out of repeat in my iPod for a good 2 weeks or so. I always wanted to try and do the drum track for this song, but I always fail since Joey Jordison is a beast. Well, it's a statement for everyone who thinks they wanna be someone else. You shouldn't want to be someone else, you are who you are. "Now, I'm not pretty and I'm not cool, but I'm fat and I'm ugly and proud - so fuck you." I agree with those lyrics because I feel like I'm 'fat and ugly', but I'm proud of who I am, I don't care what anyone says.

11- Skin Ticket
I don't like this song as much. This song and the next one aren't that great. I mean, it has it's good moments, but in general, they're both pretty bad. For example, this song doesn't really need such a long intro. It doesn't really add in with the rest of the song. It sounds boring until the good part comes up, and even then, after the good part, it gets boring again. But it shouldn't be boring at all, but oh well.

12- New Abortion
Another song I don't really like. I never got into it, that's why. I've heard it many times, but I just don't think it's that great. For the rest of the album, it's like this song and Skin Ticket are just two 2 pieces of cotton in a land full of shards of glass. It just doesn't seem that right. The song is okay, but it doesn't really compete and compare with the other songs in this album.

13- Metabolic
Now this is a good song. It knocks down Skin Ticket and New Abortion. Pure drums, percussion, and screaming. The guitars are in there, yes, but you have to say that this song is all for Joey Jordison, Shawn Crahan, and Chris Fehn. This is a song everyone should listen to.

14- Iowa
This 15 minute epic consists of pure randomness. It's trying to resemble Killers Are Quiet/Dogfish Rising from the end of M.F.K.R. Thing is, this song is way more creepier than the M.F.K.R. version, so I find this one to be better. There aren't any ridiculous sayings and it isn't exactly as random as Dogfish Rising, but it still has an element of which you can feel the eeriness this song has compared to the M.F.K.R. version. This version is mostly about emotional feelings, and once you have gone deep in your body, soul, and mind, you can see where everything is. It is mostly about feelings towards someone, and the emotional feelings you find in your body, it is saying what you want to say, but you can't. This song has everything you want to say. "You are mine, you will always be mine; I can tear you apart; I can recombine you; All I want is to covet you all; You belong to me; I will kill you to love you."

Well, overall, this album is a 9 out of 10. Many say this album is heavier than any other album they have made, and it's true. But my personal taste, their self-titled is better but this album comes into second place. It is pretty heavy and it has it's awesome moments as well as it's okay moments. If you are consider buying this album, do it. It's well worth it and once you're done with it, you'll feel completely different with yourself. I know it happened to me.

Until next time, goodbye.

Part III

This album is the best, no doubt about it. It's just awesome, everything about it. For further explanation, Slipknot is a 9 man band. Well, until one died this same year, but I will explain that in another review. Now, to name them in order from 1-9, #0-Sid Wilson (Turntables) #1-Joey Jordison (Drums) #2- Paul Gray (Bass) #3-Chris Fehn (Percussion) #4- James Root (Guitar) #5- Craig "133" Jones (Samplist) #6-Shawn "Clown" Crahan (Percussion) #7- Mick Thompson (Guitar) #8- Corey Taylor (Vocalist). Each has their own role in this band, not only the roles they play, but each and everyone of them add an interesting personality that together equal Slipknot. Now, this album is their debut self-titles album that got them out there to get signed to a record company, RoadRunner Records. This album is simply the best out of all of them. Coming from June 29, 1999, here is their self-titled debut album, Slipknot.
"Slipknot" 1999
1- 742617000027
"The whole thing I think is sick" or "The whole thing I think is shit" is repeated throughout the whole 00:36 song. This is a great way to open up the album, especially since you can already tell it's going to be awesome. Agree or not, this is their best album uptodate, no lie.

2- (SIC)
This song is awesome. It is one of my favorite songs from them, no doubt. If you ever get the chance to start listening to Slipknot, listen to this song, it will not fail you. It's 3 minutes and 20 seconds of pure all out. It leaves you wanting more, and you do get more. You can tell this album was going places, and it did on February 2001, when it was declared this album to be Double Platinum. You have to give them credit for going that far in their self-titled debut album.

3- Eyeless
Now this a song that would want to make you gouge your eyes out. "You can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes." Corey is stating that you can't see anything without being perfect, hense the title being called Eyeless; no one is perfect, so you have no choice but to just be blind in your own world and not give a damn. This song is pure anger when it comes to the fact that the world is not perfect, so shut up with your little perfections, people feel safe and secure where they just are. If you don't and wish to be called the perfect person, well good luck with that.

4- Wait and Bleed
It is said that this song was made because Corey Taylor had a dream where he saw a man in a bathtub just bleeding profusely, so he dedicate this song to anyone who's a masochist out there and just loves pain, and actually agrees with them. The only thing that he disagrees on is the fact that some people turn into masochist because of some lame emotional problem and the only way they want to resolve it is by just cutting themselves up to feel pain. No you stupid little kid, grow up and mature already. "Inside my shell, I wait and bleed," means I wait for happyness, and until then, I stay inside the confounds of my mind until I achieve superiority, but not in a way where I cry myself to sleep.

5- Surfacing
Ah, the famous song that turned most people, mostly teens, to be in Slipknot's fan group, being named "maggots" mostly because of the chorus of this song states, "Fuck it all, fuck this world, fuck everything that you stand for. Don't belong, don't exist, don't give a shit, don't you ever judge me." Of course not in that exact way, he mostly just screams and spits out the words full of rage.

6- Spit It Out
Another favorite of mine, it has a great speed. It's rushing you, wanting to jump higher, scream louder, and even mosh harder. From the beginning, it feels like you're going to get an adrenaline rush, and it does a perfect job doing that because this song does not slow down, only until around the end of the middle of the song, theres a small slow jam where Craig samples sounds with the help of Sid and it goes back to how it was in the beginning, hard and fast.

7- Tattered and Torn
It is said this song was made by the "clown" of the group, #6 Shawn Crahan. Only because when they recorded this back when it was first shown in M.F.K.R., Shawn had the idea of making a song of a sad clown who's angry at the world, and that's what you got in M.F.K.R. Now, in this album, it's a cover that way more metal than the foolish sounding one in the earlier demo. It still has the same aspect of the cynical clown mind, but it goes more deeper in this song than it does in the song in the demo.

8- Me Inside
Definitely another mad man song. When I first heard this song, I felt "insane in the membrane." The beginning of this song sounds pretty weird until you hear the massive double bass happening with sampling/turn tabling. It then goes on with Corey Taylor screaming out what he has had in his mind the whole time recording this album, pure blind anger. This song sounds pretty short, but you still can't deny the fact that it's just awesome.

9- Liberate
This song is for those who can't get free from control. As in, they feel they are being controlled, so they just want to be set free and run away. The beginning lyrics "Liberate - My madness" is self-explanatory. Another song where I felt I just wanted to bash my head into a wall. Funny story about that, I was once listening to Slipknot, and this song was playing at the time, and I felt so antsy to do something, I got up and head banged my crash cymbal from my drumset. I had the idea of doing so when I first saw a video of Joey Jordison doing it when he was playing live. It was a small clip of him doing it, so I wanted to do it. But, since he has a mask, it won't hurt his face. Too bad I didn't think about that at the time, I made a small cut running along my front hairline. Word to the wise, don't ever do that.

10- Prosthetics
If this title rings a bell in your head, it's because this is the same title of a song in the Crowz album. This is the remade version, and in the other post, I said something about pulling your hair. This remake does the same effect, but not exactly making you feel of pulling your hair out. In the beginning, it makes you feel like you want to get into the fetal position in a corner of your room. It then goes on with the feeling of hatred, and not exactly making you feel like you should pull your hair off. It's still good, I think it's better.

11- No Life
I don't quite like this song that much. Corey spends most of the song just singing, and I'm not saying I don't like his normal voice, but I prefer his harsh vocals. The chorus is him singing, while I was accustomed to the screaming vocals. But this song is still good, it would have been way better if it actually had harsh vocals all the time, not some times here and there.

12- Diluted
Another favorite of mine, it starts off awesome, but then slows down. I still like the effect they're using. They started the song in okay speed, slowed it down to mimic a normal thing until it gets faster and faster, and when it goes faster, Corey goes more hard on his vocals, mirroring a man who has no idea what to do. To me, this song is like a story of a man who has had nothing but happiness in his life, but one little screw up and he lost his whole life. "What the hell - did I - do to deserve - all of this?"

13- Only One
As I was listening to this song to review here, I couldn't help it, but I just put my hands away from the keyboard and just jammed a bit. As I said in the Crowz review, this is the remake. When I said I like this version better because Corey does a better doing the vocals in this song, it is completely true. Both versions have their own little drum solo, and I prefer this drum solo than the other. You can say, it's more spicier than the other.

14- Scissors
If this sounds familiar, it is. This is the remake of Heartache and a Pair of Scissors. They just probably shortened it so it wouldn't be exactly the same. The song isn't exactly the same as well. Well, they do both have the eerie feeling to it and the slow speed with a sound that can make you go crazy. At exactly 3:28, you can feel the mental ticking bomb inside your mind. "Bidding my time until the time is right." Once that bass guitar hits, it's like you're ready to go ape shit. You'll know when to blow up in this song, and you'll feel happy you did because that anger in you is relieved. This song is mostly for that, to relieve anger by getting angry. Makes no sense, but that's just how it is.

15- Eeyore
Continue with Scissors and there's a secret hidden track. That hidden track is this song. I personally like this song because this is just pure anger and it makes you just want to jump up and punch everything around. Seriously, get a spot in your room, a place in your house, outside, anywhere and put this song in full volume and just jump around and kick stuff. Invite your friends!

Well then, this is their best album, no doubt about it. 10 out of friggin' 10. Why? Their other albums can't compete with their self-titled debut album, no way. Real quick notice, I reviewed the songs from the original album. Since the original has been released, other songs have been leaked and they were supposed to be on this album but just didn't make it. The 10th Anniversary Edition has all the little demos and whatnot, so I'll see if I can find those demos.

Until next time, goodbye.

Let's take a break.

(For that special someone, here you go.) You have no idea how many people are in love with this group. Some might say they're mainstream, some might not care of what they say, because in the end, you still have to say their music is awesome. It might not be your taste, but even if, hear them out. You might change your mind and hear their songs. This awesome group is called Daft Punk.
Daft Punk is an electronic music group originating in the early 1990s but gaining popularity amongst the public around the late 1990s. It consists of French born Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo(1974) and Thomas Bangalter(1975). They first met in a secondary school in Paris and had created a small indie band with another classmate of theirs. They have made a rock n' roll band and played gigs. They had a negative review which stated "a bunch of daft punk." And that is where they got their name from, they liked it since it sounded unique. Their classmate left for unknown reasons and when he did, Guy-Manuel and Thomas messed around with drum machines and synthesizers. That is the formation of the Grammy Award winning duo, Daft Punk. Now, onto the review!

"Homework" 1997
I have to say, early Daft Punk is where its at. The songs are a bit repetitive, but thats how most house music is, it's intentionally for clubs and raves. Repetitive, but every now and then, they change it up a bit, that's why I like this album. Da Funk and Around the World are probably the most recognized songs in this album. Other than those 2 singles, other songs in this album are great. Notable songs in this album that are worth listening to areRevolution 909 (which has a music video that should be checked out), Phoenix (which is a bit repetitive, but if you play this at a club, no one cares, they'll just dance!), Around the World (I'm pretty sure some of you have heard this song. This also has a video with great choreography, it should also be checked out), Rollin' & Scratchin' (Another song for the club), Rock 'N Roll (Personal favorite of mine, nothing to do with the genre though), andBurnin' (yet another song that has a video that, again, should be checked out.) Overall, this album deserves a 8 out of 10. Most of these songs are a bit repetitive, but still enjoyable.

"Discovery" 2001
I have to say, this is one of my favorite albums of all time. Not just because the songs in this album are amazing, but they all make up a story, and that story is the movie "Interstella 5555." If you have never seen the film, then you have no idea what you've been missing. The entire movie is the Discovery album, in order, to form a story about an alien band kidnapped by a mean old music agent just to use their music in order to get the fame and fortune himself. As the movie continues, the music keeps on going. It goes from the first song One More Time, to the last song, the 10 minute epic,Too Long. This album has to be the best from Daft Punk. It has great singles that everybody knows, including One More Time,Aerodynamic, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, and Short Circuit. Other great songs includeSuperheroes, Digital Love, and actually, the whole album is just great. If you want to buy this album, then go ahead, it's worth it. But I do recommend watching the movie "Interstella 5555" to understand the story Daft Punk are trying to say in this album. Overall: this album deserves a 10 out of 10. I can't get enough of how great this album is.

"Human After All" 2005
Daft Punk themselves say this is their favorite album out of the other albums. I can see what they mean, this album is pretty good, not going to lie. I still prefer Discovery, but this album also takes the cake. I didn't like some aspects, though. The use of vocals in most of their songs, I'd rather music of that genre without any lyrics, just bass, treble, and sound effects, because that's what techno and any other form of it should sound like. Well, here are other songs everybody knows, Robot Rock and Technologic. Every other songs are excellent for this album. Even if I don't like this album in particular, but hey, still give it a chance, it's awesome. My personal favorites are Human After All, Make Love, Television Rules the Nation, and Emotion. 4 songs out of the 10 tracks in this album is pretty bad, but hey, some people might love this album, and I can see why. Well, this album might not be what I expected to be, but I still like it. This album is an 8 out of 10.

Overall, I give this group a 9 out of 10. Why? Because they're just that awesome. If they made more albums, then you will for sure love them even more. They might be a tad mainstream when it comes to that type of genre, but who cares, honestly. There's good mainstream, when it doesn't even matter, and there's bad mainstream, *coughNicklebackcough*. Recent news, Daft Punk will be doing the soundtrack for the movie Tron: Legacy. To wrap it up, you should listen to this group. If you don't like this type of music, then you're just missing out.

Until next time, goodbye.

(P.S. This review was for that one special person. She told me to review a favorite artist of hers, and she told me to do Daft Punk, so, knowing this month is Slipknot month, I squeezed in a day just for her so she and you guys, my readers, can read something other than Slipknot. You can say this is a small break from the Slipknot infestation.)
(P.S.S. Slipknot Part III will be out soon, so expect that to come out. If you don't read the Slipknot reviews, then whatever, your lost.)
