Oh no, yet ANOTHER band that uses an abnormal amount of eyeliner. You know what that means! Gay music. This time, I won't review this band like I did with ICP and GayDay, I'll actually start to review albums from bands. I just didn't want to with the last 2 bands since I despise them. Now, I don't mind MCR, but after listening to Black Parade, I just wanted to say "Stop, just stop." This band is My Chemical Romance.
My Chemical Romance is yet another American rock band from New Jersey. Well, I classify them as punk since they sound like it. Well, they used to. Gerard Way, vocals, Ray Toro, guitar, Frank Iero, rhythm guitar, and Mikey Way, bassist, as the band members. I'm pretty sure they use some guy there to be the drummer. But those are the official band members, I don't know who are the other people in the picture, but I honestly don't care. Let's move along.
"I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" 2002 and then re-released 2009

I never really heard of this band until their latest album. I heard their debut album, this same one (sometimes also known as just "Bullets"), and knowing this is a debut album, they're not that bad. Don't take me wrong, I think MCR is whatever, at most. But hey, this album isn't that bad, to be honest. I like Our Lady of Sorrows, the intro for Skylines Turnstiles isn't that bad, the song itself is ok, and This Is The Best Day Ever isn't that great, but bearable. Other songs in this album, such as Early Sunsets over Monroeville and Demolition Lovers aren't that great to listen to but hey, who cares. This album deserve a 5 out of 10. Eh, maybe 5.5
"Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" 2004

This album is mostly famous because of the singles Helena and The Ghost Of You and because of that, automatically this album seems like it's gonna suck. Was I wrong? Well, no, not really. Going from average alternative to what seems like the genre "emo," doesn't do great at all. Basically, you lose listeners who have better taste and gain a teenage audience who really just want to wear the same crap they do in their videos and call themselves MCR fans. Well, enough of that, let's review songs. Right off the bat, I recognized Helena and I didn't even bother listening to the rest, not only because the song is just a pathetic excuse to show sadness but also because I already heard it many times, all thanks to MTV. Another bad song, You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison, doesn't sound like Helena but if you read the lyrics, you'll understand why this song sucks as well. The Ghost Of You and Cemetery Drive are other songs that are just horrible. This album, 3 out of 10. Their first album was way better than this garbage.
"The Black Parade" 2006

Wow, uhm, ok. Going from a whatever/decent band, to a wannabe grungy/punk with a wannabe punk look, to a group with ugly music and ugly looking men. Eyeliner? Come on, MCR sounds a tad better than Green Day, but they don't need to look the same. Oh well. Right off the bat, the first song The End sucks. Dead sounds decent, but read the lyrics. I quote "And if your hearts stops beating, I'll be here wondering, Did you get what you deserve?" That is in just less than 30 seconds, despicable. We can't forget the main single from this album, The Black Parade. This song just sucks, I'm sorry. Another song, Mama. God damn, the lyrics to this song makes them look like a sad piece of crap. Seriously, grow up and drop your pair. Teenager and Sleep are other examples of songs in this album that is just a pathetic excuse to make you feel pensive. I don't know how many times I'll say this, but GROW UP. 4 out of 10.
Well, that's it for this band. Overall, I give them 5 out of 10. They can be better if they want to be, but I'm pretty sure they'll stay in their "emo"/scene/punk phase they're in right now. Oh well, who cares. Recent news, theres rumors out there stating they're new album will be coming out later this year. Will I get it? Pfft, but of course I will. HAH, sarcasm ftw.
Until next time, goodbye.
(P.S. I might not have enough time for all the bands I want to write about in the "Ireallyhatethisband" month, so expect other future months to be also named "Ireallyhatethisband"!)
