Hey look! It's summer already! Time for a new post! It will be in a band I recently got into. They're not really much of popular band, since they broke up in '06. Nonetheless, they are a really good band. Some might say it's not their style, but different styles of music isn't supposed to be liked from everyone, just the audience it appeals to. This band is called Five Foot Thick.

Five Foot Thick is an American Nu-Metal band formed in Washington in 1997. They had 5 band members (Bryan Dilling on Lead Vocals, George Silva on Guitar, Kris Demers on Bass, Silas McQuain on Drums, and Matt "Gzuz" Gonzalez on keyboard/turntables and such), and they made 3 albums, Circles, Blood Puddle, and finally This Cold Life...
I have alot to say about this band. I first heard of this band because of their single Prozac a very long time ago. I loved the way the song pumps me up and makes me want to beat someone up. So, I started scattering around for the rest of the bands music. At last I found it and so I started listening to it. I will go from album to album, since it's just 3 and tell you what I think of it.
"Circles" 2000 and then re-released in 2004

When I first heard this album, I fell in love. It has a very harsh atmosphere and it honestly reminds me of 2 bands. It's like Five Finger Death Punch and Slipknot made a baby, and the album is what it sounds like. It's very hardcore with a freestyle element to it. Harsh vocals, hard drumming, a DJ mixing up different sounds to make it sound good, and guitarists doing what they can to make the listeners feel like they just want to mosh in the middle of a pile of mud. Prozac, No. 5, Media Fly, and other songs in this album are excellent. If you find this album, you should definitely buy it. 8 out of 10.
"Blood Puddle" 2002

When I first heard Blood Puddle, I felt empty. Going from harsh freestyle to average metal. I liked it, but it just changed. It still has a harsh freestyle feeling to it, but it's not "Circles." Unfounded is an ok song to begin the album, but it just has nonsense screaming. I like the single Blood Puddle, it has the potential to make you want to run up to a tree and just start beating it up (A tree seems like a better choice since it's bad to beat up little kids.) Other than that, this album seems ok, but it can be better since it has it's boring parts. Like Clarity seems to just repeat itself, and that makes a song less likely to be good. Listen is just another boring song in this album. I'm basically saying this album is pretty boring, but it has its moments. 5 out of 10.
Last but not least, "This Cold Life..." 2005

Now this a pretty good album. It sounds like "Circle" and "Blood Puddle" fused together. Not gonna lie, when I first heard the songs in this album, it got me pretty hyper. It changed big time from "Blood Puddle." I never got bored when I listened to this album. The Unrest, Running With Scissors, Self Evident and Seeds of Aggression are really good songs. This album just bleeds awesomeness, it's another album you should buy. 8 out of 10.
Now, that is my review of this band. Five Foot Thick is an 8 out of 10, too bad this band broke up in '06 and there hasn't been any recent news of this band. Oh well, I'll just enjoy them with what I have. Until next time, goodbye.
(P.S. Sorry, I did not mean to make this a really long post, I just wanted to get my views out there.)
(P.S.S. Since this is summer, I dedicate June to be the "Ireallyhatethisband" month, I will review 3 bands I really dislike and just explain why. Then, July will be the month that each week will be an album from my favorite band, Slipknot. And then I'll go back to review any band in August. Ask me for reviews of any other band and I'll tell you my view since I'll have my share of staying home in a boring day and a blog post will be pretty entertaining for me.)
